Follow Friday 10/31:What books would you give to newbies in your favorite genre?

This week's questions is: What books would you give to newbies in your favorite genre?
Welllll, I hate to be cliche here, but I would probably have to recommend The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, to ease into contemporary. I know everyone has probably already read it, but it is definitely for good reason! If I had to recommend a different one, it would be Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. I feel like it's really hard to not like this book! It is relatable to most people who read it and it's super entertaining.

  2. Many people haven't read that book. It has gotten more popular now with the movie coming out though and people assume that if they seen the movie they don't need to read the book, which isn't always true. Not with this book at least. It is a great book for the genre, but it is also one that will have the reading crying, which should be a warning.
Fangirl is a perfect recommendation for the genre as well! I haven't read it yet, but I have heard such great things about it that I know I will love it.
Nice picks. Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by my blog, I followed you back on Bloglovin'.

  3. I really didn't like the movie based on the book, so I'm guessing I wouldn't like the book either. Fangirl might be something I'd be willing to try though! Thanks for sharing!

  5. I haven't read either of these but I did notice that you also recently read Miss Perigrine's Home for Peculiar Children and I LOVED that one. Make sure you read the sequel, Hollow City because it was also fantastic. I followed on Bloglovin'
